Put Me Down for "Peace"
• Tuesday, September.18.07 •

In the notion of "1 Picture = 1,000 Words",
Sometimes only a few words are worth a picture.
(Or at least a cool bumper sticker...)

I'm Not Disturbing the Peace, I'm Disturbing the War

Jonathan Safran Foer
• Thursday, September.13.07 •

It must have been about a year ago,
I was in a book store in Takamatsu, Japan.
They had a very small selection of books in English,
But I was determined to get something...

"Everything is Illuminated",
I knew nothing about this book or about Jonathan Safran Foer,
but for some reason I was drawn to it.
(Perhaps it was drawn to me)

I fell in love with this book and couldn't stop raving about it,
For months I would tell my friends how great it is,
Convincing at least a dozen people to buy a copy.

Everything is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer

The other day I'd begun reading Jonathan's second release,
"Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close".
After about 10 pages I'd made up my mind,
  Jonathan is a literary genius.
    (At least in my mind)

Of course I encourage you to purchase a copy and give it a read,
Either one of these books or both for that matter.
I've officially become a huge fan of Jonathan's writing,
Forever waiting for his next publications.

  Need I say more?

"Road-Rage" (ococcus)
• Saturday, September.8.07 •

Today I found out why 92% of Los-Angeles citizens
are infected with a severe case of "Road-Rage" (ococcus),
That would be because of the other 8% of course...

When you are driving 40mph in a 65 zone
on the left lane with a good amount of highway traffic,
You are creating a bit of a problem!
The way I see it, there is only one way to cure this vile disease,
And that would be to move to Montana for a year or two.

I don't want to sound like a chauvinist,
But I had to peek... Just out of curiosity...
And Yes!!! It was in fact a female driver.
(And not a 70 year old in case you were wondering)
    ;)

Today I was diagnosed with the early symptoms.
This post goes out to all the others who are infected
with various degrees of "Road-Rage" (ococcus),
I finally understand your "Condition".

Have a soothing weekend,
  I love us all.
    (Even the other 8%)

The City of What?
• Tuesday, September.4.07 •

With a glass of Beer in my right hand
And a handful of "Authentic Mexican Tortilla Chips" in my left,
I wonder whether or not it's time to make a run for it.
I'm in Los Angeles at the moment, actually,
One of the many suburbs which nobody (except those who live here)
Cares about, The outskirts of L.A.

To some people this place has everything. (Including a shopping mall)
To me it's just like any other place,
Another name on a map, another moment in time.

During the last few days running around the city,
And a few other outskirts, I'd noticed a magazine.
It's called the L.A X-Press or something like that,
They are given away for free in metal boxes scattered around the city.
So I figured I'd grab a hold of one and see what's "Happening"...

Well... To my surprise (Or maybe not much of a surprise)
The magazine is filled up with so much garbage
that I'm shocked it didn't reek when you flipped through the pages,
Most of which had (What they called) "Personal Adds".

There's nothing wrong with people placing an add,
We all know that it's not easy to find the Good Ones...
But these "Adds" weren't for your average Joe or Jane,
They were for 18+ girls who are looking for sugar daddies,
For men that are looking for a "Good Time".

If you're reading this journal entry you may be asking yourself:
"Gigs, Why are you so surprised by this?
This is the oldest job around... Supply and Demand..."

Well, My problem isn't as much with the existence of such a thing,
It's the fact that I got a hold of it outside a convenient store,
And now that I think about it they're everywhere, all over the city.

Think about the kind of text these adds contain...
Now think about your 10 year old son or daughter...
(Or "Nations Youth", Or what not)
      Is your eyebrow raised?
